Eurus Energy has commenced the reconstruction work at the 43 MW Eurus Kamaishi Wind Farm in Japan. This wind farm, situated in Kamaishi City, Tono City, and Otsuchi Town in Iwate Prefecture, has been in operation for almost 20 years since its commercial launch in December 2004. To ensure continued efficiency and performance, the wind farm temporarily ceased operation in March 2023 to undergo a complete overhaul.

As part of the replacement project, the wind farm will retire 43 existing wind turbines, each with a single output capacity of 1.0 MW. In their place, 11 larger wind turbines, each with a single output capacity of 4.2 MW and supplied by Vestas, will be installed. This upgrade to one of Japan's largest turbine models will enable the wind farm to harness the region's abundant wind resources more effectively.

The reconstructed Eurus Kamaishi Wind Farm is expected to recommence commercial operation in April 2026. All electricity generated by the wind farm will be sold to the Tohoku Electric Power Network Co., Inc. This renewable energy production will be equivalent to the electricity consumption of approximately 31,000 average households, making a significant impact on reducing CO2 emissions. It is estimated that the wind farm's operations will result in the reduction of approximately 44,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
