Renova Inc. has started the construction of Reihoku Amakusa Wind Power Station, a 54.6 MW wind farm located in Kumamoto prefecture, southern Japan.
The project is owned by Renova Inc. with 38% stakes together with SMFL MIRAI Partners Co Ltd and NEC Capital Solutions Ltd, each with a 31% share. Renova will sell the energy produced from the plant at JPY21 (US$0.15) per kWh.
Once operational, the 13-turbine wind project is expected to generate up to 109,000 MWh of energy annually.
