Equinor ASA has selected architecture firm B-CA to design its offshore wind operations and maintenance (O&M) base at the Baltic port of Leba, Poland. The new base will comprise a quay for mooring vessels, a remote control centre for offshore farms, a warehouse, and office space. The buildings' design will blend in with the local port landscape. Construction is set to commence in 2023 and will be completed by the end of 2025.
In 2021, Equinor acquired the site at the port of Leba, intending to use it as a service port for its Baltic Sea offshore wind farms. In collaboration with Polenergia, Equinor is developing the Baltyk III, Baltyk II, and Baltyk I offshore wind projects. Leba's proximity to the areas of operation will optimize safety and operational costs.
The new base is part of Equinor's goal of building a sustainable offshore wind energy system that contributes to climate action while delivering long-term value.
