SPIE Wind Connect has been awarded a contract by Seaway7 to deliver inter-array cable termination and testing for the Baltyk 2 and Baltyk 3 offshore wind farms in Poland.
SPIE Wind Connect has been tasked with carrying out the termination and testing of the 66kV inter-array cable system linking the wind turbine generators (WTGs) to the offshore substations (OSS). Offshore operations for the project are scheduled to begin in Q2 of 2026.
The Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III offshore wind farms are major renewable energy developments situated in the Polish Exclusive Economic Zone in the southwestern Baltic Sea, off northern Poland’s coastline. Each project is expected to deliver around 720 MW of installed capacity, bringing the combined output to approximately 1.44 GW. Together, the two wind farms are anticipated to generate enough clean electricity to meet the energy demands of more than two million households in Poland.
Each offshore wind farm layout is characterised by ten strings of five WTGs, with all turbines connected to the OSS via 66 kV inter-array cables. Within each string, the outermost WTG will be connected using a 400 mm² inter-array cable, after which a 1000 mm² cable will carry the total string power to the OSS.
