Capital Energy has contracted Elecnor SA as the engineering, construction, and procurement (EPC) provider for the proposed 22.5 MW wind project in the Andalusia region of Spain.
The El Barroso wind farm represents about EUR30 million (US$35.62 million) of investment and will be built in the municipality of Jerez de la Frontera in Cadiz. The project will have five Cypress platforms of General Electric Co with a rotor diameter of 158 meters and a hub height of 121 meters. Once operational, the project can generate enough power to supply 27,000 homes and prevent 25,000 tons of carbon emissions per year.
Elecnor will be in charge of the commissioning of the project and construction of the infrastructure needed to transmit the plant’s electricity aside from the EPC activities.
