GE Renewable Energy has been selected by Capital Energy to supply turbines for the 22.5 MW El Barroso wind project located in the municipality of Jerez de la Frontera, Cadiz, Andalucia region, Spain.
The project has an investment cost of about EUR30 million (US$35.62 million) and will be using five Cypress platforms with a rotor diameter of 158 meters and a hub height of 121 meters.
The GE Renewables also signed a service agreement for the monitoring and preventive and corrective maintenance of the turbines for a period of 20 years.
The construction of the project is scheduled to commence in July of 2021 and expected to be operational by 2022.
