Power to Green Hydrogen Mallorca (P2GH2M) consortium, led by Acciona SA and Enagas SA, in which CEMEX and IDAE participate, has started construction of the 8.59 MWp solar photovoltaic project in the municipality of Lloseta, Mallorca Island in Spain.

Located in the municipality of Lloseta, at a site provided by Cemex, the project will consist of up to 16,660 solar panels with a capacity to generate 8.59 MWp and is expected to produce 13,516 MWh/year. The other plant, located in the town of Petra, will begin construction shortly and will have 12,740 solar panels with the capacity to generate 6.5 MWp and an annual production of 10,819 MWh/year.

Both solar installations will generate electricity to power the Lloseta hydrogen production plant, which will produce more than 300 tonnes of 100% green hydrogen per year. Hydrogenics, a hydrogen specialist that is part of Cummins Inc will supply electrolyser to the Green Hysland hydrogen project in Mallorca.

In October of 2020, The Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) of the European Commission selected the project Green Hysland in the Balearic Islands to start negotiations for an EU grant agreement valued at EUR10 million (US$11.82 million).
