The National Energy Commission of Dominican republic has granted provisional concessions for 147 MWp of solar capacity.
The first solar farm is the 36.56 MWp Cumayasa 2 project sited in the province of La Romana under Grupo Ecoener's responsibility.
The second project is 60 MWp of solar arrays to be built by Corporacion Zona Franca Santiago in an industrial free zone in Santiago province.
The third is Renewable Energy World Dominicus's 50 MWp solar facility also in La Romana.
The concession grants developers 18 months to begin further studies and surveys before qualifying for definitive concessions.
