Dominican Republic's CNE awards contract for 100 MW of renewable energy projects

The National Energy Commission (CNE) of the Dominican Republic has awarded the concession of the two renewable energy projects in the country. 

CNE has approved the construction of the Bayahonda Solar Park (Bayasol) with the signing of the contract with the company Parque Eólico Beata SRL. The Bayasol photovoltaic plant will be built in Matanzas, Baní, Peravia province. It will have a nominal capacity of 50 MW and up to 63.65 MW from renewable primary sources. The project is raised with an investment of about US$60 million. 

Another construction concession contracts signed by the CNE corresponds to the company Streamline Integrated Energy Corp. (SIE), which authorizes the construction of an energy recovery plant that will use as inputs a hybridization of urban solid waste and gas for the electricity generation. Plant will be installed in San Pedro de Macorís, and will be able to process municipal sold waste (MSW) from anywhere in the country. The plant will have a capacity of 50 MW.
