InterEnergy Group has completed the acquisition of a 34 MW Matafongo wind farm in the southwest of the Dominican Republic, as well as a pipeline of other projects.
The investment for the projects in partnership with Grupo Popular exceeds US$52 million and shows a clear commitment to clean energy generation in the Dominican Republic.
The Matafongo onshore wind farm has an installed capacity of 34 MW, which can be expanded to 50MW, and generates approximately 104 GWh each year. The project is estimated to reduce CO2 emissions by an average of 30,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
