Ecoener has inaugurated a 100 MW renewable energy complex comprising 8 wind farms and 12 photovoltaic (PV) power plants on Canary Islands, Spain.
With a total investment of EUR125 million (US$125.5 million), the facilities will cover the yearly electricity needs of 54,000 families and cut CO2 emissions by 112,000 tons per year. It will also avoid the annual consumption of about 20,000 tons of fossil fuels, a substantial contribution to the Canary Islands' 2040 decarbonization goal.
The complex is located in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana (Las Palmas) and includes the 19 MW La Florida 3 wind farm.
