TotalEnergies, BW Ideol, and Qair have started the construction of the 30 MW EolMed offshore wind farm located off the coast of Gruissan in the Aude region of France.
The project consists of three floating V164-10.0 wind turbines that are mounted on BW Ideol’s Damping Pool floating foundations. The construction work is projected to take roughly 18 months and will require 250,000 hours of labor, with 150,000 of those hours spent on welding in the Port-La Nouvelle.
When completed in mid-2024, the Mediterranean Sea pilot wind farm will be one of France's first three floating offshore wind farms.
