Neoen has been awarded 49.8 MWp of solar projects in the latest call for tenders by the French government’s Energy Regulation Commission (CRE). Neoen was the biggest winner in the “canopies and buildings” category with its solar canopies project for Lyon airport and second biggest in the “ground-mounted” category with its Tournissan project.
The solar canopies project, initiated by Vinci Airports, will be installed on 14 ha of parking canopies at the Lyon-Saint-Exupéry airport (Rhône). It has been developed by Neoen in partnership with SunMind, VINCI Concessions fully owned solar energy subsidiary.
The construction of the project is set to begin in 2023, with commissioning scheduled for the summer of 2024.
