Neoen SA has been awarded a total of 49.8 MWp in the latest tender call by the Energy Regulation Commission of the French government. The company has secured two projects in the fourth round of France's tender program for rooftop commercial and industrial (C&I) installations as well as ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) capacity. This call for tenders was carried out under France's PPE2 multi-year energy procurement program.

In winning the rooftop competition, Neoen has received support to install solar PV arrays on 14 ha of parking canopies at the Lyon-Saint-Exupery airport in Rhone department. The project is expected to become operational in the summer of 2024. Neoen and Vinci Concessions' SunMind have developed the project, and building works are scheduled to commence this year.

Furthermore, the French company has secured another project to develop a 30 MWp solar plant at the Tournissan park located in Aude department. This plant is expected to produce an annual output of 40 GWh, which will be enough to provide electricity for around 15,000 people.

Neoen is the majority owner of both projects. The company has also announced its readiness to re-submit its projects that were not selected in the new round of tenders, which the French government is set to launch after an error in the running of the tender.
