Groupement Les Mousquetaires has signed a 15-year Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for Q Energy's 29 MW solar project in France. The photovoltaic park is being built in the municipalities of Saint-Pierre-de-Cheville and Dissay-sous-Courcillon in Sarthe department.
Under the deal, Groupement Les Mousquetaires will receive 33 GWh of solar power annually, which equates to covering 1.3% of the company's overall power consumption per year. Set to begin early next year, the Chaume project brings together the generation of power alongside beekeeping and grazing on agricultural land.
Q Energy, owned by South Korean company Hanwha Solutions, has over 12 GW of solar, wind and energy storage projects in its pipeline across Europe, with a specific focus on France, Spain, Portugal and Germany. Groupement Les Mousquetaires has noted that signing this PPA demonstrates the company's continued investment in renewable energy sources to satisfy its needs with a sustainable solution, contributing to the greening of France's grid.
