Japan Renewable Energy has announced commencement of commercial operation at a 17.1 MW solar park in Ibaraki prefecture, Japan.
The Inashiki Sakura Solar Power Plant which is located in Inashiki municipality is expected to generate sufficient power to meet the annual demand of around 4,435 local households, which equals to 27.5% of the houses in the town.
On yearly basis, Inashiki Sakura will help in avoiding around 12,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
In May 2017, construction of the 54,300-panel PV park was initiated.
Now operated by GK JRE Inashiki Sakura, the PV farm is selling its output to Japanese energy distributor Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings Inc.
