The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) of Brazil has granted authorization to start the development, construction, and operation of the 302.4 MW Coxilha Negra wind farm located in Santana do Livramento city in Rio Grande do Sul promoted by CGT Eletrosul.
CGT Eletrosul has signed contracts with companies that will be responsible for the execution of the infrastructures of the wind plant. The project represents about BRL2.1 billion (US$419.19 million) of investment which includes the wind turbines, installation of the transmission system, and civil works.
Coxilha Negra Wind Farm will consist of three wind facilities with a combined total number of turbines of 72 installed on about 8,466 ha of area. The energy that will be generated from the wind plant will be available in the National Interconnected System and will be traded in the Free Contracting Environment, also known as the Free Energy Market.
