Capital Energy has signed a long-term electricity supply contract (PPA) term with ADL BioPharma for the 39 MW Las Tadeas wind farm located in the Palencia province of Castile and Leon region in Spain.
Capital Energy will be in charge of the annual supply of 61,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable energy to the facilities, which ADL BioPharma has in the city of León. The amount of electricity is equivalent to the average electricity consumption of 25,000 Spanish homes and will also avoid about 24,000 tons of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere.
Initially, the delivered energy will come from the 39MW Las Tadeas wind farm. Starting in 2023, the company expects to cover the consumption of ADL BioPharma with the electricity produced by its Leon wind projects, ensuring a 100% local supply for the province's industry.
