Brazil’s power sector regulator ANEEL has rejected a request from Renova Energia SA to transfer the Phase B of the 743 MW Alto Sertao III wind power complex to energy firm AES Tiete Energia SA.
On April 2019, Renova Energia SA has entered into a deal with AES Tiete buying the wind complex, divided into Phase A (438 MW) and Phase B (305 MW), plus a 1.1 GW wind project pipeline for BRL1.34 billion (US$347.5 million) in total.
The negotiations with AES will continue.
AES Tiet will reassess its interest in the acquisition of Phase B.
