The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) has raised concern in the BRL 1 billion (US$261 million) loan it has extended to the 743 MW Alto Sertao III wind complex because of uncertainties on the planned sale of the project.
The project developer, Renova, is selling the wind asset plus a 1.1 GW wind project pipeline to the Brazilian energy firm AES Tiete Energia SA. However, the regulatory body ANEEL has rejected the sale of the Alto Sertao III's 305-MW Phase B.
The project consists of Phase A of 438 MW and Phase B of 305 MW.
