British Telecom Group (BT) and BayWa r.e. AG have signed a virtual power purchase agreement (PPA) for the 42 MW Dalquhandy wind project in the Scottish Highlands, in South Lanarkshire.
BT will purchase power and Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs) for a 10-year period at a fixed price. The agreement binds 80% of Dalquhandy's generation. The contracted energy is estimated to be approximately 90 GWh annually.
Dalquhandy wind project will consist of 10 Vestas V136 turbines. It is scheduled to commence commercial operations in Q4 of 2022 and is anticipated to provide enough electricity to power 34,000 houses.
