Atlas Renewable Energy is seeking approval from Chile’s environmental regulator after it submitted an environmental impact declaration for the construction of the proposed 865 MWac Parque Fotovoltaico Alfa Solar in the Antofagasta region.

The company estimates that the US$450 million project will create 800 to 1,300 jobs during the construction and 18-25 after the completion.

The Chilean government's environmental evaluation service is yet to react to the request.

If approved, Parque Fotovoltaico Alfa Solar will be installed in the rural community of Maria Elena, Tocopilla province.
