Atlas Renewable Energy has entered into a 21-year power purchase agreement with Albras for the supply of sustainable energy sourced from the 902 MW Vista Alegre Photovoltaic Project in Brazil, which is predicted to commence operations in 2025. The solar plant will be situated in the state of Minas Gerais, expected to generate approximately 2 TWh/year, equivalent to offsetting about 154,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
The partnership between Atlas and Albras is also set to significantly contribute to the energy transition in Brazil. The partnership will permit the generation of renewable energy equivalent to the capacity needed to power a city with roughly 3 million people, such as Brasilia.
Vista Alegre will continue its commitment to promoting sustainable practices and instilling long-term environmental, social, and governance advantages for the surrounding communities.
