Nextracker has signed an agreement with Atlas Renewable Energy to supply its tracker control system at the 902 MWp Vista Alegre solar project in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
As part of the deal, Nextracker will provide its TrueCapture technology, which incorporates artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to accurately monitor the sun's positioning. The technology, therefore, adjusts the solar panels' alignments to optimize energy production. It can adapt the direction and position of every solar tracker in real-time to reduce the impact of shading, uneven terrain, adverse weather conditions, and other factors that can impact energy production.
The Vista Alegre solar project will provide electric power to the Brazilian aluminum producer Albras under a power purchase arrangement.
