CGN Brazil Energy Holdings Co., Ltd., a unit of China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN), has started the commercial operation of the 180 MW Tanque Novo wind power project complex located in the northern state of Bahia, Brazil.
The project construction started in November 2021 with an initial installed capacity of 25 MW. The project features China's domestic wind turbine equipment and currently has the largest blade wind turbine in South America.
It is estimated that the wind farm complex can generate enough power for up to 430,000 homes, equivalent to about 720 million kWh of electricity per year.
