CGN Brasil Energia (CGNBE), a unit of China General Nuclear Power Corporation, has secured authorization from the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) of Brazil for the development of the Tanque Novo Wind Complex in the State of Bahia.
The wind complex will consist of Aura Caetité 1, 2, 3, 4, and Aura Tanque Novo 1, 2, and 3 wind farms. It will be built between the municipalities of Tanque Novo and Caetité with an estimated total investment of BRL1 billion (US$184.08 million).
The wind complex is included in the Special Regime for Infrastructure Development (Reidi) and classified as priority projects of Brazil.
