Saudi-owned energy and water desalination developer ACWA Power plans to build a 1,000 MW solar photovoltaic project located in Najaf City, about 160 km from the capital city of Baghdad, Iraq.
The project is a partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iraq. The two countries collaboration in the energy sector will increase the dependability of both's electrical networks, save money, promote appropriate energy exchange for electricity production, and encourage investment in electricity generation projects.
ACWA Power is a developer, investor, co-owner, and operator of a portfolio of power generation and desalinated water production plants currently with operations in 10 countries in the Middle East and North Africa, Southern Africa, and South East Asia regions.
