Spain’s X-Elio has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Amazon for the entire output of its 14 MW Funaki solar plant located in Ube, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan.
Funaki solar plant, with a capacity of 14 MW (10 MWac), began construction in 2024 and will generate approximately 18,686 MWh per year. By mid-2025, it is expected to become operational, contributing to Japan’s net-zero emissions target by 2050. This PPA between X-ELIO and Amazon not only strengthens X-ELIO’s position in the Japanese renewable market but also furthers the shared vision of accelerating Japan’s transition to a low-carbon future.
