X-ELIO has completed the commissioning of its 14 MW (10 MWac) Funaki PV Solar Plant in Ube, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan.
Following successful performance and reliability testing, the plant is now fully operational and supplying renewable energy to Amazon under a long-term power purchase agreement. X-ELIO signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Amazon for 100% of the energy produced by the Funaki plant.
The plant, built on the site of a former golf course, will produce 18,686 MWh of clean energy annually. With this project, X-ELIO has a successful portfolio of 393 MW of solar power plants already built in Japan. In addition, the company has a pipeline of 396 MW of PV Solar and BESS projects in different stages of development.
GE Vernova’s Onshore Wind business announced that the 147 MW Abukuma wind farm has begun producing power after reaching its Commercial Operation Date (COD).
