Eurus Energy Holdings Corp has announced the commencement of power generation at 127.5 MW wind projects in Hokkaido, Japan. The wind complex consists of Hamasato Wind Farm (47.5 MW) and the Kawaminami (80 MW) facility features a total of 33 Siemens Gamesa wind turbines. Eurus's focus on Hokkaido as a location for wind power generation stems from the prefecture's favorable wind conditions.
Both wind farms were built by Dohoku Wind Farm LLC, a Eurus group company, as part of the Dohoku Wind Power Generation Project. The company aims to install a total of 107 wind turbines in the region and continue to promote wind power generation in Hokkaido.
All the electricity generated by the facilities will be sold to Hokkaido Electric Power Network Inc. Together, the two wind farms will meet the electricity needs of around 93,000 households.
