wpd has selected GE Renewable Energy to equip 16 turbines to three wind farms in Landkreis Uelzen, Niedersachsen, located 100 km southeast of Hamburg, Germany. With a combined installed capacity of 88 MW, the three projects will feature GE’s 5.5 MW turbines with a rotor diameter of 158 m. The arrangement also included a 15-year, full-service contract with a 5-year extension option.
The three wind farms are situated within a 20 km radius of each other. Bankewitz and Müssingen are expected to be commissioned by the end of 2023, while Flinten is scheduled for Q1 of 2024. Together, the three wind farms will generate enough electricity to power approximately 90,000 households per year.
