RWE has signed 12 power purchase agreements (PPAs) involving its 295 MW Nordsee Ost and 302 MW Amrumbank West offshore wind projects in Germany.
The Amrumbank West offshore wind farm consists of 80 turbines whereas the 295 MW Nordsee Ost offshore wind farm comprises of 48 wind turbines - Senvion's 6.2M126 model enough to generate electricity to supply approximately 320,000 households.
The wind farms will provide power to 11 German industrial customers beginning in 2025 and to one large municipal utility beginning in 2026. The power offtakers include Badische Stahlwerke, Freudenberg group, Infraserv Hochst, Mainova, Messer, Schott, Telefonica, Verallia, Vodafone, Wacker, and ZF. The majority of the contracts will run for 10 years.
Nordex SE has signed turbine supply orders for a total capacity of 245 MW for several wind projects in Canada and Germany.
