Wirsol, a unit of Wircon Group, has secured development approval from the New South Wales Department of Planning, Industry, and Environment for the development of the Maryvale Solar and Energy Storage project near Wellington, New South Wales, Australia.
The project will have 235 MWp of solar photovoltaic farm that is connected to about 270 MWh Lithium-Ion battery energy storage system. The hybrid energy complex will be built on 360 ha of area to generate enough power for the consumption of up to 82,000 homes. The construction works are expected to commence in late 2023.
Wirsol has purchased the project from its initial developers - Photon Energy Pty Ltd and Polpo Investments Ltd.
