Gentari has issued a notice to proceed, prompting PCL Solar to begin the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works for the 243MWp Maryvale solar co-located with a 172MW/2.4-hour battery energy storage system (BESS) in New South Wales, Australia.

Ingeteam has agreed with Gentari to support what is described as eastern Australia’s first DC-coupled solar-plus-storage hybrid facility. As part of the collaboration, Ingeteam will deliver 32 power stations, comprising 61 central photovoltaic inverters and 488 DC-DC storage converters rated at 430kW each. Additionally, the company will supply its hybrid plant controller, which will oversee the operation of nearly 400,000 solar panels and 122 battery containers installed throughout the site. The photovoltaic panels in the project will be linked to the batteries using a “DC-coupled” configuration, allowing the batteries to charge directly from solar energy without incurring losses from DC-to-AC conversion. The system will have a maximum export capacity of 172 MW to Australia’s National Electricity Market and a maximum import capacity of 91 MW. The Maryvale project is scheduled to become operational in Q2 of 2027.
