Elgin has announced that the Barwon Solar Farm, a hybrid 250 MWac BESS and 330 MWp solar farm located 49 km southwest of Melbourne CBD and approximately 30 km from Geelong, received its development approval.
This is Elgin’s largest project to date to secure both development approval and the grid 5.3.4A letter from the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO). The letter signifies AEMO's approval of negotiated access standards for the proposed connection, which is required before executing a connection agreement.
This project marks another important step for the Elgin team. It demonstrates their ongoing commitment to the Australian market as they work towards progressing a project pipeline of over 5 GW across Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland.
