French independent green energy operator VALOREM announced that seven of its photovoltaic solar projects totaling 300 MW, located in Thessaly, received Environmental Terms Approval (ETA) from the Greek Ministry of Energy and Environment.

These projects are part of a large-scale solar photovoltaic project that will be implemented in an area of 362 hectares, with a combined capacity of 360 MW in the region of Larissa. The Farsala solar energy complex will comprise 11 photovoltaic projects, generating 550 GWh of clean electricity—enough to power around 40,000 households. The energy from each PV installation will be transmitted through underground medium-voltage lines to a newly planned substation at “Skotoussa” in Farsala Municipality. Environmentally approved, this substation is set to be constructed by VALOREM and will facilitate the grid connection for all of the company's projects in the region.

VALOREM’s Farsala solar energy complex will be its largest photovoltaic facility in Greece. Environmental approval has been secured for approximately 350 MW, including 50 MW for three projects approved earlier in 2024, and a grid connection application has been submitted. VALOREM is collaborating with local authorities, including agricultural, archaeological, and environmental agencies, to ensure a positive impact on the community and ecosystem. The project integrates biodiversity conservation and considers measures to protect the local bird population.
