Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation has announced that its consolidated subsidiary, SIGMA POWER Ariake Corporation has signed a collaboration agreement with Omuta City of Fukuoka Prefecture.
With the new agreement, SIGMA POWER will now proceed to construct and operate the two new biomass projects in Shinkomachi and Nishiminatomachi. Each plant will have 22 MWe capacity. The type(s) of biomass fuel to be used have not been specified.
Construction of the estimated JPY 20 billion (US$182.4 million) project is scheduled to begin in the latter half of 2019 and be completed in Spring 2022.
