TagEnergy has reached financial close on its 49.9 MW/100 MWh Roaring Hill energy storage project in Fife, Scotland, while retaining 100% equity in the facility after securing a loan from Santander UK.
Construction will now begin on the asset, which is anticipated to open in the Q1 of 2024. In September 2021, TagEnergy acquired Roaring Hill from RES, initial developer of the project.
The plant will consist of 18 battery units and will utilize Tesla Megapack lithium-ion batteries and Tesla's Autobidder artificial intelligence software for real-time trading and control.
