NatWest and EDF Renewables UK have signed a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) involving the 49.9 MW Porth Wen Solar Farm in Anglesey, North Wales, UK.
Currently, under construction, the project is expected to be operational in 2023. Once completed, the 190-acre land will be suitable for sheep grazing. EDF will also increase biodiversity on-site by planting a mile-long wildlife corridor, a hedgerow, and wildflowers and trees.
For this agreement, EDF will collaborate with NatWest's present and future electricity suppliers to include the electricity generated at Porth Wen in their broader portfolio.
