TagEnergy has secured financial close for the 1,300 MW Golden Plains Wind Farm and will begin construction of the first 756 MW stage of the mega-project in Rokewood, Victoria, Australia.
With all agreements in place, the AUD2 billion (US$1.36 billion) Stage One development with 122 turbines will commence early in 2023 and produce green energy in the first quarter of 2025. TagEnergy has a grid connection agreement with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), an EPC contract with Vestas, and a build, own, and operate grid connection contract with AusNet Services. TagEnergy and Westwind are continuing the development of the 500 MW+ Stage Two and 300 MW battery.
In addition, TagEnergy has acquired recourse-free financing from a group of lenders that includes Clean Energy Finance Corporation, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Westpac, EKF, KfW IPEX-Bank, Mizuho Bank, and Bank of China.
