Sunshot Energy is planning to build a hydrogen industrial hub with an energy storage plant to be located in the town of Collie, Western Australia.

The Government of Western Australia has approved US$1 million in funding for the first stage of a feasibility study into the Collie Battery and Hydrogen Industrial Hub Project. The project will also consist of a battery of between 600 MWh and 800 MWh.

The study by Sunshot Energy, chaired by eminent energy expert Ross Garnaut, is assessing the economic case for establishing a hydrogen electrolyzer, powered by renewable energy, which could also produce green ammonia and urea for agricultural and industrial uses.
