SSE Renewables, in collaboration with partners, has started the installation of the first of 277 turbines at Dogger Bank in the UK, the world's largest offshore wind project.

The wind power initiative involves the installation of turbines that measure 260 m in height, almost twice the size of the iconic London Eye. Located approximately 80 miles off the coast of Yorkshire, the massive turbines will be positioned using the vessel named the 'Voltaire.'

Installation of the first 260-m turbine is set to commence over the weekend. Once fully operational, the offshore project will possess an installed capacity of 3.6 GW of renewable electricity, surpassing the size of any other offshore wind farm and generating enough clean energy to power a staggering six million homes annually.
