Marubeni has acquired the 25 MW Upper Ogmore Wind Farm and energy storage project to be installed near Blaengarw and Nant-y-Moel in Bridgend, South Wales, UK. The project from RES Group is the first onshore wind project to be considered under the Developments of National Significance planning process. This approval was granted in September 2022 by Welsh Ministers.

RES has been working on this seven-turbine wind farm and energy storage project since 2017. The company has extensive experience in renewable energy project development and operation globally.

Marubeni plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UK government to invest approximately GBP10 billion (US$12.8 billion) in the UK with its partners over the next 10 years.
