Saudi Arabia Shortlists Bidders for 8,000 MWh Battery Energy Storage Systems

Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) has announced the list of qualified bidders for the Group 1 Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) project, which aims to develop 2,000 MW/8,000 MWh storage capacity across Saudi Arabia. 

Project Locations: 

  • 500MW/ 2000MWh Al-Muwaih BESS in Makkah Province
  • 500MW/ 2000MWh Haden BESS in Makkah Province
  • 500MW/ 2000MWh Khushaybi BESS in Qassim Province
  • 500MW/ 2000MWh Kahafah BESS in Hail Province
