Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) with JERA Co., Inc. and Al Bawani Capital announced that they have signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPAs) with Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) to develop two new greenfield combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power projects of capacity 3.6 GW in Saudi Arabia.
The Rumah 2 and Al Nairyah 2 IPPs will each generate 1.8 GW of power using advanced gas turbine technology, totaling 3.6 GW of combined capacity. These plants will be developed by special purpose entities with ownership stakes from TAQA (49%), JERA (31%), and AlBawani (20%). The operation and maintenance (O&M) will be handled by O&M entities with the same ownership structure.
