Sonnedix Japan, a unit of Sonnedix, has started the commercial operation of its 14 MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) project located in the town of Hirono in Iwate Prefecture, Japan.
The project is designed to generate up to 15,800 MWh of clean energy during the first year of its operation. The electricity generated by the solar plant will be sold to Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) under FiT regime, for 18 years.
The plant is equipped with JA Solar modules and TMEIC inverters. Juwi Shizen Energy acted as the EPC contractor and will perform Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities.
