Japan Renewable Energy (JRE) and SMFL MIRAI Partners Co Ltd, a unit of Sumitomo Mitsui Finance & Leasing Co Ltd, has entered into an agreement to jointly invest in about 196.5 MW portfolio of solar plants in Japan.
The portfolio consists of 79.95 MW JRE Yamato Takamori Solar Power Plant in Yamato-cho, Kamimashiki-gun, Kumamoto, the 62.52 MW JRE Aso Takamori Solar Power Plant in Takamori-cho, Aso-gun, Kumamoto, and the 54 JRE Satsuma Solar Power Plant in Satsuma-cho, Satsuma-gun, Kagoshima. The solar plants are expected to enter into operation between 2022 and 2023.
Once operational, the facilities can generate up to 235.7 million kWh of energy per year.
