JRE starts construction of 54 MW JRE Satsuma Solar Power Plant

Japan Renewable Energy (JRE) has started the construction of the 54 MW JRE Satsuma Solar Power Plant located in the Kagoshima prefecture. 

The facility consists of 136,000 solar panels installed in Satsuma City that are capable of delivering up to 64.8 million kWh per year, offsetting 28,390 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually. 

The facility is expected to be operational by January 2023.
