A total of 3.2 MW of solar farms in Kyoto, Fukui and Hyogo prefectures has started commercial operation. Installed over an area of 4.1 hectares in Japan, the facilities produce approximately 3,481 MWh annually to meet consumption of some 700 local homes. The solar parks are powered by 11,528 solar modules.
Upon construction, Kaneshita Construction Co was in charge of the maintenance of the land, while Omron Field Engineering Co Ltd was assigned in designing and constructing power generating equipment. Kyocera supplied photovoltaic panels and peripheral equipment. Also, Omron is responsible of facility maintenance management during power generation period. A special purpose vehicle Tango Solar Power Co Ltd was established to develop the solar parks.
The solar projects offset around 1,885 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually.
