Serbia’s state-owned power utility Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) has launched a tender for bids to carry out a feasibility study and conceptual design for a proposed solar power plant at the ash disposal site of the Nikola Tesla A thermal power station near Obrenovac, southwest of Belgrade, Serbia.

The tender notice states that the proposed solar facility will be developed on the TENT A ash landfill, an ash disposal area within the Nikola Tesla A thermal power plant complex near Obrenovac, southwest of Belgrade. The site forms part of Serbia’s largest coal-fired power generation complex and is operated by EPS. The successful bidder will be responsible for evaluating the project’s technical and economic feasibility. Approximately 67.2 hectares of land at the ash disposal site have been designated for development. The photovoltaic modules specified must deliver at least 600 W of output, achieve a minimum efficiency of 24%, and be guaranteed to operate for more than 30 years. The contract is valued at an estimated RSD 14.91 million (US$148,472), with bids due by January 23, 2026.
